The Srebarna Biosphere Reserve is a protected area in Bulgaria that was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The reserve was established in 1948 and now covers an area of 892.05 hectares, with an additional buffer zone of 540 hectares. It is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including 41 species of mammals, 11 species of reptiles, 10 species of amphibians, and 24 species of fish. The reserve is mainly known for its bird population, with 221 species nesting in the area, including the curly pelican, pink pelican, little cormorant, brilliant ibis, and white-eyed grebe.
The Srebarna Biosphere Reserve also features a natural science museum with an animal exhibition and narrated guides that allow visitors to observe birds in their natural habitat. An eco-path and observation platforms have also been built, providing opportunities for bird-watching and rest.
