How do I get from Sofia airport to my hotel?

There are several options for getting from Sofia airport in Bulgaria to your hotel or city center:

Taxi

Taxis are readily available outside the terminal. For T2 arrivals – turn right after the exit; for T1 – taxis are in front of the terminal. You can take a metered taxi or negotiate a flat rate with the driver beforehand. The journey from Sofia airport to the city center should take 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.

Public Transportation

Bus Line 84 runs between the airport and Sofia city center, stopping at key locations. The journey takes 25-30 minutes.

Metro / Subway

Metro line M2 runs from the airport to the Serdika station. This fast and budget-efficient option has trains leaving every 15 minutes and taking 26 minutes to reach the city center. The metro can be taken from T2 at Sofia Airport. To get to the metro, turn left after you exit the T2 terminal. Arrivals at T1 should commute to T2 to take the metro.

Car rental

You can rent a car directly at T2 at Sofia airport. However, renting a car on the spot is always more expensive than planning ahead. We recommend scheduling your car rental options. For more information, use our “Renting a car in Bulgaria” resource.

Private Transfer

You can book a private transfer in advance to take you directly from the airport to your hotel. This convenient option eliminates the need to navigate public transportation or haggle with taxi drivers. If you choose this option, we will be happy to assist you.
