Nestled on the eastern edge of the Devetashko Plateau, the Krushuna Waterfalls are among the most picturesque natural landmarks in Northern Bulgaria. If you are traveling from Sofia, you can take the Hemus highway and drive towards Lovech and the village of Krushuna. The journey takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Sofia, covering a distance of approximately 180 km.

Once you arrive at the village of Krushuna, the eco-path takes you through waterfalls, cascades, wooden bridges, and panoramic platforms, offering stunning views of the emerald-blue water and the lush green vegetation. The largest waterfall is about 15 meters high, and several smaller ones form a breathtaking sight.

The Eco-Path

The eco-path can be accessed from two paths; reaching the waterfalls takes about 20 minutes. The trail is comfortable and takes approximately 90 minutes to walk around. The place is perfect for a family outing, and children can enjoy small playgrounds where they can play.

In addition to the Krushuna Waterfalls, the area around the Devetashko Plateau boasts more than 30 caves, four of which are among the longest in Bulgaria. The Vodopada Cave, nearly 2 km long, is one of the most famous and is unimproved. The famous Devetashka Cave is some 25 minutes away by car.
